CRUST
Click Here to find out how to make the crust.
CHOCOLATE
Finely chopped 1 1/2 cups of chocolate
MERINGUE
This recipe is from Food Network, I don't own the recipe.
4 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
DIRECTIONS (For the chocolate and meringue)
Sprinkle chopped chocolate over hot pie crust. The rest is from Food Network
Beat the egg whites, cream of tartar, and remaining pinch salt in a large bowl with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Beating constantly, gradually add the confectioners' sugar and beat until glossy stiff peaks form, being careful not to over beat, as this will make the meringue difficult to spread.
To quickly cook the meringue, preheat the oven with the rack in the highest position. Place the pie under the broiler and cook until the meringue is set and golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning. (Alternatively, the meringue can be cooked in a preheated 325 degree F oven until set and golden brown, 14 to 16 minutes.)
The rest is now from me.
And now wait 5 minutes to cool when it's out of the oven. It's torturous, I know. And when 5 mins is up, it's NUM NUM TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
